Main Objective:
The Aesthetics Bio Treatment Assistant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of the physician or providers. This role will assist with patient care management, execute administrative and clinical procedures, and assist with all aspects of the Orthobiologics/Aesthetics program within the Arthrex Medical Center while collaborating with internal management and entire interdisciplinary team. The Aesthetics Bio Treatment Assistant may also perform microneedling with appropriate certification and training as well as other non-invasive cosmetic treatments including but not limited to Emsculpt &Emsella.
Competence in the field also requires this position to adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize, and respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professional characteristics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform initial patient microneedling and cosmetic consultations and maintain proper documentation of such procedures.
• Facilitate patient schedules for microneedling and cosmetic procedures.
• Provide teaching and aftercare instructions to avoid any potential complications per physician recommendations and protocols for post microneedling procedures.
• Order orthobiologic supplies and assist with procedures in the clinic.
• Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to biologics.
• Performing office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician.
• Assisting with patient examinations or treatments.
• Performing and collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician.
• Administering medication as directed by the physician.
• Communicate openly with AMC management.
• Ability to work alone and as a part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Present highly professional image at all times.
• Preparing patients for the physician's care.
• Taking vital signs.
• Operating office medical equipment.
• Observing and reporting patients' signs or symptoms.
• Performing venipunctures and non-intravenous injections.
• Administering basic first aid, CPR, AED Certified.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Work with point-of-sale system to collect payments.
• Performing aseptic procedures.
• Ensure necessary supplies are stocked and cleanliness of treatment room is maintained.
• Monitor inventory levels, reorder, and stock necessary items.
• May operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. i.e. x-ray and ultrasound.
• May take x-rays following established radiologic requirements to ensure patient care and safety.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, including general medical assistant support when needed.
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
• Certification by the American Association of American Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists preferred.
• BLS/CPR/AED Certification.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a medical assistant preferred
• Advanced training and certification in Microneedling.
• Experience working with orthobiologics and cosmetic procedures in a medical office setting preferred
• Aesthetics background and experience preferred
• Graduate of an approved ARRT Radiological Technology School preferred
• Current ARRT registration and respective, valid State certification preferred
• At least two or more years of experience working in and performing Radiology preferred
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
• Current certification and skill in basic life support (BLS)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently.
• Spanish speaking a plus
• Experienced with EMR systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff which includes: effective communication, getting along with coworkers and management and working efficiently and professionally under pressure at all times.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to biologics in the primary care setting.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PCs, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook, plus any additional communications equipment as needed.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of administrative and clinical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
If hired for this position, you will be eligible for a $750.00 sign-on bonus (minus appropriate tax withholdings) which will be paid in your first pay period.
